The objective of this competition is to unleash the potential of architectural imagination to create spaces that promote mental healing and well-being. Participants are invited to design an innovative “underland”—a subterranean sanctuary that uses geometry, volume, and spatial design to foster solace and rejuvenation.

 

Participants are tasked with designing a groundbreaking “underland” that prioritizes tranquility, mental healing, and well-being.

 

This competition embraces creative freedom, encouraging participants to think beyond traditional architectural norms. There are no restrictions on style or form—participants are invited to propose avant-garde, unconventional, and transformative design concepts that prioritize the well-being of occupants.

 

Your submission should include the following:

• Conceptual Framework: Outline the central design concept and explain how it addresses mental health and healing.

• Spatial Design: Provide an analysis of the spatial organization, key architectural elements, and how volumes and geometry contribute to occupant well-being.

• Material Selection: Highlight the materials chosen and their role in creating a healing environment.

• User Experience: Describe how users will interact with and experience the space, emphasizing its impact on mental healing and overall well-being.
