In partnership with both The Architectural Review and the Architects’ Journal, the W Awards, formerly known as the Women in Architecture awards, celebrate exemplary work by women and non-binary people. Recognising lifetimes of achievement and contributions to architectural culture, as well as the work of those with bright futures ahead, the W Awards celebrate the exceptional work of people who are systemically undervalued by the society in which we live.

 

● Moira Gemmill Prize for Emerging Architecture

This category is open to female and non-binary practice founders who are under the age of 45 (born after 1 January 1980) and based anywhere in the world.

● MJ Long Prize for Excellence in Practice

This category is open to UK-based female and non-binary architects working in practice and who have been project architect on a building completed in the last two years.

● Prize for Research in Gender and Architecture

This category is open for research projects undertaken by individuals (of any gender) or collectives from around the world investigating the spatial implications of gender and sexuality.
