Competition assignment
Launched in 2002, the AR Future Projects awards are a window into tomorrow’s cities. Spanning 13 categories, they celebrate excellence in unbuilt and incomplete projects, and the potential for positive contribution to communities, neighbourhoods and urban landscapes around the world.

About the Awards
Launched in 2002, the AR Future Projects awards are a window into tomorrow’s cities. Spanning 13 categories, they celebrate excellence in unbuilt and incomplete projects, and the potential for positive contribution to communities, neighbourhoods and urban landscapes around the world.
The following 13 enterable categories will be reviewed by an international judging panel, who will choose one winner per category as well as an overall winner:
- Civic and community
- Commercial mixed-use
- Cultural regeneration
- Education
- Health
- Hotels and leisure
- Housing
- Infrastructure
- New and old
- Offices
- Regeneration and masterplanning
- Retail
- Tall buildings
Past winners include Haptic Architects, PIR2, Grafton Architects, SO-IL, White Arkitekter, Allies and Morrison, 5468796, Ateliers Jean Nouvel, 3XN Architects, Nomos, Nikken Sekkei, Valentino Architects, Studio MK27, Aedas and OMA.
All winners of 2025's awards will be invited to a celebratory event with the AR in April 2025 during Milan’s Salone del Mobile.
