Da der Tourismus ein so wichtiger Teil der kambodschanischen Wirtschaft ist, ist der Ökotourismus wichtiger denn je, um die empfindliche Umwelt des Landes zu schützen und gleichzeitig Arbeitsplätze und Einkommen für die lokalen Gemeinden im ganzen Land zu schaffen.
Kambodscha hat einen wachsenden Ruf als Ökotourismus-Destination, mit 23 Naturschutzgebieten und sieben Nationalparks im ganzen Land, und eine Reihe von umweltfreundlichen Rückzugsorten versuchen, dies mit umweltfreundlichen Praktiken zu unterstützen.
Der Cambodia Remote Hideout Huts Wettbewerb fordert Architektur-Enthusiasten auf, eine Reihe von selbstversorgenden Hütten zu entwerfen, die Besuchern eine einfache Unterkunft in der kambodschanischen Wildnis bieten sollen.

Cambodia has a growing reputation as an ecotourism destination, with 23 conservation areas and seven national parks throughout the countryside, and a number of eco-friendly retreats are looking to support this with environmentally sound practices.
The Cambodia Remote Hideout Huts competition is tasking architecture enthusiasts to create a series of self-sustained huts which will provide visitors with simple accommodation within the Cambodia wilderness.
In collaboration with The Vine Retreat, located in the idyllic rural countryside between Phnom Vour Mountain and the south coast of Cambodia, this competition will task participants with incorporating eco-friendly practices with impressive design that has the potential to be an iconic example to the rest of the country.

The Cambodia Remote Hideout Huts competition is open until November 18, 2020, with winning designs - that will be put forward for consideration for construction and receive 10,000 € in prize money - will be announced on March 3, 2021.
Competition is open to all. No professional qualification is required. Design proposals can be developed individually or by teams (4 team members maximum). Correspondence with organizers must be conducted in English; All information submitted by participants must be in English
