Archicontest – architectural competitions
Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Amsterdam ist eine sehr vielfältige Stadt. Die größte städtische Entwicklung fand im sogenannten Goldenen Zeitalter, nämlich im siebzehnten Jahrhundert, statt, als Amsterdam nicht nur die Hauptstadt der Niederlande wurde, sondern darüber hinaus als Zentrum des europäischen Handels fungierte.
Das Stadtzentrum wird von fünf Kanälen umgeben, die das Bild bis heute prägen und noch immer bedeutende logistische Funktionen erfüllen. Charakteristisch sind neben den Flüssen
außerdem die vielen Radwege, Museen und Cafés der kunst- und kulturbegeisterten Stadt. In den Vororten dominieren Felder und Windmühlen. Außerdem findet sich viel zeitgenössische Architektur, und es ist wohl gerade diese Heterogenität, die Touristen anzieht, zählt die niederländische Hauptstadt doch zu den am meisten besuchten touristischen Zielen Europas.
Das Wettbewerbsgebiet für das De Wallen Hostel befindet sich in zentraler Lage am Beursplein. Auf diesem bisher ungelösten städtischen Raum soll ein Hostel entstehen, das die Gäste einerseits durch eine einladende Ästhetik empfängt, und sich andererseits zugleich in eine Verbindung stellt mit den von dort aus zu entdeckenden Hauptattraktionen der Stadt.

1 #HISTORY AND THEME
Amsterdam is a city with many identities. The largest urban development took place in the seventeenth century, in the period known as the Golden Age, when the Dutch capital became one of Europe's commercial hubs of major interest. The five semicircular canals that surround the urban fence have always played a dominant role logistically and in terms of landscape. Besides the rivers there is much more: the bike paths make up a useful green Connection Network, museums and cafes line the streets of art and culture, green fields and windmills characterize the suburban areas. No shortage of contemporary architecture and transgression places, the red zone, much frequented by foreigners. This heterogeneity poses Amsterdam among the most visited tourist destinations of the Old Continent: tourism is one of the most developed areas, we intend to think of a traveler service hostel. The Beursplein is a border area between the neighborhood De Wallen and Nieuwe Zijede, a short walk from Dam Square. In this unresolved urban space we want to imagine a receptive structure, on hostel for turist that wil be to connect with main attractions of the cit
2 #WHO CAN PARTECIPATE?
Participation in the competition is open to students, architects, engineers or designers from all over the world, whether they are undergraduates, graduates or professionals. You can take part in the competition either individually or as a group. You must elect a representative of the design team which will be made possible communications. The maximum number of group members is five people which can also be mixed or composed of students, graduates and professionals.
The official competition languages are: English, Italian and Spanish.
3 #ENTRY AND DOWNLOAD
We send photos and dwg area after that you send us in copy to the email of the competition the receipt of the payment.
-The payment can be made with PayPal; the reference mail address: archicontest@gmail.com
-For those wishing to pay by bank transfer, you may write to mail: archicontest@gmail.com and ask for bank details.
REGULAR REGISTRATION: 2nd May to 22th May the entry fee is 15,00 euro for those who make payment via PayPal, 20,00 euro for those who choose the bank transfer mode.
SPECIAL REGISTRATION: 23th May to 04th August the entry fee is 20,00 euro for those who make payment via PayPal, 25,00 euro for those who choose the bank transfer mode.
After payment, there will be no refunds under any circumstances.

4 #FUNCTIONAL SPACES
The project area is considered to be all the same height. Request is not made of drawings and are not provided PRG technical or extracts (sections, elevations, etc.) for not constrain the work of the competitors that will be judged also on the ability to find information added independently. It makes the following indication (tips are not mandatory requirements and competitors can add or exclude functions to your liking) of function spaces such as reception, common areas, coffee, dining rooms, bedrooms, systems of vertical connection, sopazi green parking areas. It is not established a maximum high or a certain number of rooms per floor; it is suggested to include the following types: single, double and triple accommodation. The structure can accommodate up to 100 residents.
5 #MATERIALS AND DEADLINE
The papers should be sent electronically to mail reference (startfortalents@gmail.com) no later than 23:59 of 04th August 2016. They are part of the documentation of the competition:
-MODEL A
-A table format A0 be sent in jpg format with 150 dpi resolution, drawn up in a horizontal manner and with the upper right corner of an alphanumeric code (chosen at the discretion of the participants themselves) six-digit identifier which project.
-A report prepared on an A4 sheet in Word format, with Arial 12 and a maximum of 3000 characters
EVALUATION CRITERIA
To make it as objective the evaluation will be assigned numerical values dall'1-10 to the following parameters: functional and formal quality, integration into the site and project communication.
Besides the winners and any works mentioned, the rest of the participants will be considered tied.
6 #JURY
The jury is composed of:

7 #RESULTS AND PRIZES
The winners will be announced on the website of the Association no later than the date of 29th August 2016. Will be deserving the first three works as well as any other projects which are not excluded special mentions.
-At The winner will receive a prize of 500.00 euro (excluding TAX) for each participant.
-Ai Top three finishers will be guaranteed an annual subscription to the DOMUS magazine in digital format.
-The winners and mentioned the partecipation is guaranteed for life as part of all our future competitions as well as being present on our portal.
DATA PROCESSING:
The association may use the individual proposals for the purpose of dissemination in any action it deems appropriate. Any use will be communicated to the participants who will be increasingly recognized intellectual property. Participation in the competition implies that each competitor unconditional acceptance of all the provisions of this Regulation pursuant to Decree Law 196/2003.
