Open International Competition for development concept of Gorky Central Park in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Krasnoyarsk is one of Russian major million-person cities, famous as one of the leading cultural, educational, economic and industrial cities of Siberia. The city is located on the banks of the Yenisey river, one of the longest and mighty rivers in the world.
In Soviet times the park was considered one of the best in Siberia. The goal of the competition is to attract the world‘s best architects to the transformation of a landmark place. A large-scale international project will give a new impetus to the development not only of the park itself, but also of the city as a whole.
For reference
the total number of potential applicants who registered for the competition reached 184, representing 33 countries. The final number of entries that complied with all of the Organizing Committee’s requirements was 43, representing 15 countries. As many as 76 companies competed in the event: the participants included 20 consortia (53 companies in total) and 23 individual contestants. Out of all the companies vying for the winner’s title, the judges selected 3 finalists in October 2020. The finalists then set to work on their park development concepts.

Participants
Among the participants of the competition are companies engaged in urban development and planning, public space development, architecture and design, which have been operating in the Russian Federation and capable of bringing to their team professionals in economics, finances and content programming.

Prize Fund
The three finalists selected to create development concepts will be awarded 900 000 rubles each, including all the taxes and fees.
Following the second Jury meeting, the finalists will receive an additional payment according to their ranking place:
1st place – 1 800 000 rubles;
2nd place – 1 000 000 rubles;
3rd place – 500 000 rubles.
