Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Auswahl des optimalen Masterplans für den Stadtteil Derbent, Umsetzung des Grundszenarios einer pulsierenden Stadt und eines Entwicklungskonzeptes für die Uferpromenade.
Der Wettbewerb ist Teil eines Programms zur Entwicklung einer der ältesten Städte der Russischen Föderation - Derbent. Der von den Wettbewerbsteilnehmern entwickelte Masterplan wird ein wichtiges Dokument sein, das mittelfristig die Richtung der sozioökonomischen und geografischen Entwicklung von Derbent bestimmen wird. Seine Umsetzung wird den internen Wandel von Derbent, die Integration der Stadt in globale Prozesse und eine Verbesserung der Effizienz bei der Nutzung der Ressourcen der Stadt unterstützen. Die Wettbewerbsteilnehmer müssen auch ein Konzept für die Entwicklung des zentralen öffentlichen Raums von Derbent, dem 12 km langen Damm der Stadt entlang des Kaspischen Meeres, entwickeln.
Der Wettbewerb findet auf Initiative des I Love Derbent Charity Fund statt, mit Unterstützung der Regierung der Republik Dagestan und der Verwaltung des Stadtteils Derbent. Das Agency for Strategic Development CENTER fungiert als Betreiber und Designberater für den Wettbewerb.
Competition assignment
Selection of the optimum master plan for the Town of Derbent urban district, implementing the principle scenario of a “vibrant town” and a concept of development for the embankment.
Competition is a part of a program for the development of one of the oldest towns in Russian Federation — Derbent. The master plan developed by the competitors will be an important document, which will determine the direction of socio-economic and geographical development of Derbent in the medium term. Its implementation will support Derbent’s internal transformation, the integration of the town with global processes, and an improvement in the efficiency of the use of the town’s resources. Competitors will also need to develop a concept for the development of the central public space of Derbent, the town’s embankment, which runs for 12 km along the Caspian Sea.
The competition is taking place on the initiative of the I Love Derbent Charity Fund, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan and the Administration of Derbent Urban District. The Agency for Strategic Development CENTER is serving as operator and design consultant for the competition.

Following a meeting of the jury, the finalists, will receive an additional payment in accordance with prize distribution, including all taxes and fees, in the following amounts:
Winner – 4,000,000 rubles.
Second place – 2,000,000 rubles.
Third place – 1,000,000 rubles.
The total Prize Fund, including all taxes and fees, will be 14,500,000 rubles.
