Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Kiinteistöosakeyhtiö Helsingin Mannerheimintie 13a has organized an international design competition regarding the design of the Helsinki Music Centre Concert Hall Organ.
The purpose of the competition was to produce a high-quality technical proposal for the new Concert Hall Organ for the Helsinki Music Centre based on the technical documents prepared by the Contracting Authority and identify the team who can construct and install the organ (including transportation, heave and displacements, installation, testing at the site, sound voicing, documentation, maintenance and warranty obligations).
The total budget for the design and construction and installation work of the organ is estimated at three (3) million euros (excluding VAT).
The goal is that the new Concert Hall Organ is ready to use in the autumn 2021. The new Concert Hall Organ will be mainly used by Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchesta and Uniarts Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy.

III.1) Conditions for participation
III.1.10) Criteria for the selection of participants: The first stage of the design competition is an open call for participation. Any economic operator may submit a request to participate in response to a call for participation by providing the information for qualitative selection that is requested by the Contracting Authority. After the submission deadline, the candidates will be assessed and compared in accordance with the requirements and selection criteria presented in the Annex 1 of the Competition Program. The Contracting Authority will select three to five best eligible candidates to move forward to stage 2 of the competition unless there are fewer than 3 eligible candidates. The criteria for the selection of participants has been described in detail in the Competition Program and its annexes.

The evaluation criteria has been described in detail in the Competition Program.

The amount of the compensation is 10,000 EUR /each selected candidate and will be awarded to the candidate provided that: — the functional description and the design plan fulfils all the mandatory requirements set, — the disposition of the organ in the design plan fulfils the requirements set for the disposition, — the design plan is detailed (at least as detailed as the Contracting Authority’s draft master plan), — the functional description and the design plan takes into account needs and objectives of the Contracting Authority, — the design plan is viable as such, — the candidate has visited the site at the latest 2 weeks before submitting the contest work.
