Die International Union of Architects (UIA) hat die International Innovative Health Design Awards ins Leben gerufen, die von der UIA Public Health Group organisiert werden und allen Architekten auf der ganzen Welt offenstehen.
Die UIA-Generalversammlung 2021 hat das Jahr 2022 zum UIA-Jahr des Gesundheitsdesigns erklärt, um Architekten zu mobilisieren, sich für die Gesundheit zu engagieren, nachdem die COVID-19-Pandemie ausgebrochen war.
Mit den International Innovative Health Design Awards soll die wichtige Rolle gewürdigt werden, die Architekten für das soziale und ökologische Wohlergehen spielen, und es soll aufgezeigt werden, wie Architektur und Architekturforschung, die sich auf Design für Gesundheit konzentrieren, dazu beitragen können, die Auswirkungen künftiger Katastrophen zu mildern. Mit den Preisen sollen innovative architektonische Designlösungen gewürdigt werden, die sich mit Fragen befassen, die durch die COVID-19-Pandemie in den Vordergrund gerückt wurden. Architekten sind aufgefordert, Beiträge in einer von zwei Kategorien einzureichen: Gebaute Arbeiten und Theoretische Arbeiten.

The International Union of Architects (UIA) launched the International Innovative Health Design Awards, organised by the UIA Public Health Group and open to all architects around the world.
In keeping with its mission to mobilise architects to design for health in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 UIA General Assembly declared 2022 the UIA Year of Design for Health.
The International Innovative Health Design Awards aim to celebrate the essential role that architects play in social and environmental well-being and to address how architecture and architecture research focused on Design for Health, can help to mitigate the impact of future calamities. The Awards seek to recognise innovative architectural design solutions addressing issues brought to the fore by the COVID-19 pandemic. Architects are invited to submit entries in one of two categories: Built Work and Theoretical Work.

There will be one (1) award allocated per award category. Awardees will be presented with certificates as well as free entrance to the UIA Congress and the award ceremony.

• Deadline for Answers: 18 October 2022
• Submission of Entries Deadline: 8 February 2023 – 14:00 CET
• Jury sessions: March 2023
• Announcement of results: 26 April 2023
The Awards presentation and exhibition will take place in at the UIA World Congress of Architects in Copenhagen, Denmark.
