Massimiliano und Doriana Fuksas gewannen den Wettbewerb für das Projekt zur Erweiterung und Umstrukturierung des neuen Stadtteils Fontvieille, das den Bezirk und den Hafen von Fontvieille in Monaco neu beleben soll. Das Projekt gibt Antworten auf wichtige kulturelle, kommerzielle, städtische, architektonische und ökologische Fragen.
Der neue Stadtteil Fontvieille bietet eine zeitgenössische, fließende und organische Architektur. Die Geschäftsräume werden entlang einer überdachten Fläche eingesetzt und kommunizieren direkt nach außen. Auf jeder Ebene öffnet sich der zentrale Raum auf eine Terrasse zum Meer hin und schafft einen Dialog mit den natürlichen Elementen der Landschaft, wie z.B. dem Blick auf den Fort Fontvieille Rock oder dem natürlichen Licht des Einkaufszentrums.
Der ökologische Aspekt ist eines der wesentlichen Elemente des Projekts, dessen Wirkung im Gelände die Entwicklung eines Grünen Korridors zwischen dem Rock und dem Exotischen Garten ermöglicht. Die Begrünung des Gebäudes bringt die Natur in den urbanen Raum und schafft eine neue Landschaft bis zum Meer.

Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas won the competition for the project of extension and restructuring of the new site of Fontvieille, intended to reinvigorate the district and the port of Fontvieille in Monaco. The project provides answers to major cultural, commercial, urban, architectural and ecological issues.
The new Fontvieille site offers a contemporary, fluid and organic architecture. Activities commercial spaces are deployed along a covered space, communicating directly to the outside. Every level, the central space opens onto a terrace facing the sea, creating a dialogue with the natural elements of the landscape, such as views of Fort Fontvieille Rock or natural light to the mall.
The ecological aspect is one of the essential elements of the project, whose impact in the site allows to develop a Green corridor between the Rock and the Exotic Garden. The greening of the building introduces nature into the urban space, creating a new landscape up to the sea.
