Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Noblessner liegt an der Küste Tallinns, in der Nähe des Stadtteils Kalamaja und des Schifffahrtsmuseums Seaplane Harbour. Einst die wichtigste U-Boot-Werft des kaiserlichen Russlands, hat sie sich heute in ein Viertel am Meer verwandelt, das für die Menschen und das Meer offen ist. Hier finden sich historische Industriegebäude mit ihrer herrschaftlichen Architektur, eine Promenade, ein Jachthafen und Wohn- und Geschäftsviertel.

Ziel des Wettbewerbs ist es, eine repräsentative, elegante und zeitlose architektonische Lösung für das Wettbewerbsgebiet zu finden, die das Noblessner Estate aufwertet und bereichert. Das Ergebnis muss im Einklang mit den historischen Industriebauten der U-Boot-Werft und dem in den letzten Jahren entstandenen modernen Stadtraum stehen.

Competition assignment
Noblessner is located in Tallinn’s seaside, neighbouring the Kalamaja district and Seaplane Harbour maritime museum. Once the major submarine shipyard of Imperial Russia, it has now turned into a seafront quarter that is open to the people and to the sea. You will find here historical industrial buildings with their stately architecture, a promenade, a marina and developments of homes and business spaces.

The competition is aimed at finding a stately, elegant and timeless architectural solution for the competition area that would add value to, and enrich, Noblessner Estate. The result will have to be in tune with the historical industrial buildings of the submarine shipyard and the modern urban space created in recent years.
