The Heerlen Rooftop Project
Das Konzept für das The Heerlen Rooftop Project hat zwei Hauptaktionsbereiche:
- die Eigentümer im Stadtzentrum von Heerlen dazu anregen, ihre eigenen Dächer zugänglich und nachhaltig zu gestalten.
- wiederkehrende Dachfestspiele mit der Stadtverwaltung von Heerlen und mehreren Kulturpartnern zu initiieren und gemeinsam zu organisieren, um (lokale) Interessenvertreter, Teilnehmer, Unternehmer und Grundstückseigentümer zu ermutigen, mehr und mehr (nachhaltige) Dachprojekte einzurichten. Die erste Ausgabe des Heerlen Rooftop Festival findet im Jahr 2021 statt, dem Abschlussjahr der IBA Parkstad Limburg.

Phase 1 - Forschung und Entwurf (2019)
Phase 2 - Realisierung & Transformation (2020/21)
Phase 3 - Heerlen Rooftop Festival (2021)
Dieser Ideenwettbewerb ist Teil von Phase 1. Das Gelände des Ideenwettbewerbs umfasst sieben Dachstandorte rund um SCHUNCK, mitten im Herzen der Stadt gelegen. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, einen städtebaulichen Masterplan für sieben Standorte zu entwerfen, der - soweit möglich - teilweise als Dachrundweg gestaltet werden soll.

The Heerlen Rooftop Project
The concept for The Heerlen Rooftop Project has two principal action lines:
– stimulate owners in the city centre of Heerlen to make their own rooftops accessible and sustainable.
– initiate and co-organise recurring Rooftop Festivals with the municipality of Heerlen and multiple, cultural partners to encourage (local) stakeholders, participants, entrepreneurs and property owners to establish more and more (sustainable) rooftopprojects. The first edition of the Heerlen Rooftop Festival will be in 2021, which is the finishing year of IBA Parkstad Limburg.
The Heerlen Rooftop Project is divided into three phases:
Phase 1 – Research & Design (2019)
Phase 2 – Realisation & Transformation (2020/21)
Phase 3 – Heerlen Rooftop Festival (2021)
This idea competition is part of phase 1. The site of the idea competition comprises sevenrooftop locations situated around SCHUNCK, set in the heart of the city. The challenge consists of designing anurban masterplan for seven located rooftops which should partly be designed - where possible - as a rooftop circuit.
