Trimo d.d., Trebnje, Slowenien
Wettbewerbsaufgabe
This year’s subject deals with sustainable mo - bility in the capital city of Slovenia. The city of Ljubljana has almost 170 km of different cycling lanes and tracks.
The theme of the architectural building is a selfsufficient Bike Base designed as a sustainable building consisting of a maximum of three Trimo modular units. It has to connect the following components through its form and purpose: A meeting point for cyclists, a place for refreshment and rest, Servicing bicycles and electrical bicycles, free wireless internet connection, charging batteries
for computers, mobile phones, charging for electrical bicycles and motor-cycles. The location for the implementation of the installation is foreseen at the crossroads of the Ljubljana inner ring road and Dunajska street, one of the main traffic roads in Ljubljana. The modular units on the sidewalk can be constructed to touch the embankment with their longer side and in one line, so the pedestrians still have enough space. Modular units can be built in two storeys, corbelled, and vertical building is also possible.
